Tapiwa joined Scanlen & Holderness as a librarian in February 2008. Before joining Scanlen he worked for the Library of Parliament for almost 13 years. He had joined Library of Parliament as a Library Assistant straight from Harare Polytechnic in April 1995 after having acquired a National Certificate in Library and Information Science. In 2005 to 2006 Tapiwa went back to the same college for a Higher National Diploma in Library and Information Science with he attained at the end of 2006. He rose through the ranks to become Principal Librarian. He worked for both the main section and the legal section of the Library of Parliament, where he was responsible for assisting Members of Parliament doing research as well as Officers of Parliament doing research. Tapiwa’s experience in the legislative process has assisted him immensely as a librarian for Scanlen; he was involved in providing information in the legislative process (enacting laws) and now he helps Scanlen’s legal practitioner to access the same statues as they interpret and apply them in Zimbabwean courts of law.
